Top Benefits of Thermography Training Brisbane

Thermal cameras differ from point and shoot optical cameras because they capture radiation in the infrared (IR) spectrum rather than visible light.

This allows infrared cameras to detect heat and temperature differences, making them useful for building and electrical inspections, water detection, and monitoring industrial machinery.

GTEK Infrared Thermography Training

Hi, I’m Grant from GTEK Infrared. Today we’re going to be talking about the different thermography training courses we offer. I’ll explain why training is important and the benefits you get from a certified thermography course.

To give you a little background on my experience, GTEK has been supplying IR equipment for the last 15 years and prior to that I was a tradesman for 20 years. I am also a Level 2 certified thermographer and a Level 1 ITC Infrared Training Centre Instructor.

GTEK has been delivering Level 1 ITC training courses for over 10 years. I have been personally delivering these courses for the last two years.

What Kind of ROI Can You Expect From a Thermal Imager?

Most thermography applications require post-interpretation of the thermal images. This means that IR camera operators need training.

Understanding IR fundamentals, being able to interpret the thermal imagery, and then applying the results with practical solutions will ensure the best return on your investment.

Thermal Imaging Helps Reduce the Impact of Climate Change

One of the greatest features of infrared technology is that it is non-contact and offers real-time and two dimensional image capture. This is important when working in dangerous environments and to record extreme heat images.

The applications for thermal cameras are increasing as Australia heads towards a 50% carbon reduction by 2032.

While climate change is causing temperatures to increase, the human eye cannot see heat energy under 525 degrees Celsius. This is why we need specialist thermal imaging tools.

Climate Change Applications For Thermal Cameras

Thermal cameras are ideal for detecting:

  • Extreme heat in farming and in our built environment
  • Air conditioning leaks
  • Insulation resistance
  • Electrical hot spots
  • Mechanical faults
  • Pest infestations
  • Water leaks

By putting heat energy into the visual spectrum we can make faster, more informed decisions. There is no better way to document, analyse, educate, and promote change in this area than the use of infrared technology.

Entry Level Training – Infrared Camera Operation and IR Fundamentals Training Course

GTEK Infrared offers thermography training courses for a range of customer requirements.

Our half-day Infrared Camera Fundamentals Training runs for 4 hours. It covers IR fundamentals and camera operation with a good mix of both practical and theory. This training teaches foundation knowledge that is extremely useful for folks starting out in thermography.

If you haven’t purchased a thermal camera and are not sure which camera is fit for your application, this introduction course is perfect for you. Come along, do the course and then you can make an informed decision on the purchase of the correct IR camera for your application.

Advanced Training – Certified ITC Level 1 Thermography Course

GTEK Infrared’s four day Level 1 Thermography Course is for the folks who require a higher level of understanding in thermal science to be able to perform inspection tasks in the workplace.

One of the most frequent comments we get after delivering the four day training course are people making the comment that they think they have bought the wrong camera. Once you have sat the course and understand some IR fundamentals, it puts you in a great position to buy the right thermal camera for your application.

Please don’t buy a camera first and then realise you’ve just wasted a couple of thousand dollars. Come and sit the GTEK ITC thermography course, we’ll loan you a thermal camera, and then you can make an informed decision.

Training Dates for Brisbane Thermography Courses
